Dermaplane

Dermaplanning is the deepest form of manual exfoliation. If you are looking for a smoother and brighter complexion, this safe and  simple treatment will do wonders for your skin. Say goodbye to 21 days of dead skin and fine vellus hair known as peach fuzz.

The buildup of dead skin and microscopic hairs can make your complexion appear dull, flaky, and can even cause breakouts due to clogged pores and hair follicles.

Dermaplaning can be used on all skin types and especially for those with rough, dry skin, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. However, since the procedure requires use of a sharp scalpel, those with inflamed acne should pass on it until their complexion clears up.

Great treatment for pregnant (or nursing) clients who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin.

Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the benefits of this treatment?

Perfect for those who have excess hair on their face

Allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers

Refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance removing any dullness and flaky skin

It will change your life as far as make up application goes as your skin will be super smooth

What happens during the treatment?

The skin is cleansed and a hot towel applied to the skin, then using a scalpel and a delicate touch, we simply abrade the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. A skin specific mask is applied along with a serum or moisturiser.

The treatment lasts approx. 45 minutes and is completely painless.

Won't my hair grow back darker and thicker?

Although merely an old wives’ tale, many people are often concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after dermaplaning. This is not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment. This has been proven within clinical records and has been recorded on a regular basis.

Is there any aftercare?

Dermaplaning is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects, sensitive skins may experience some light redness, it’s perfectly fine to have it done on your lunch break and go back to work, although it’s advisable not to wear make up on the skin for 12-24 hours and to wear a good SPF if you are going to be out in the sunshine.
