Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are usually made from long polysaccharide molecules of Hyaluronic acid. The molecules are cross-linked for stability and longevity. The molecules are good at attracting and holding onto water as well as helping surrounding cells regenerate.

The Hyaluronic acid is presented as a syringeable gel that can be injected below the facial skin to lift up folds and deep wrinkles. Repeated injections can also help stimulate local cellular regeneration.

The lifting of the folded skin can make you look instantly younger and with better facial volume. You can redefine lips, enhance your pout, enhance chin and cheek areas and even redefine the jaw line.

Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS

How long do dermal fillers last for?

In general fillers may need topping up after 12-18 months, depending on the site of injection as well as the amount of filler injected. Well known brands are Restylane and Juvéderm.

Restylane is water based and as some of the water will be lost then the practitioner must inject more filler at the beginning. This can be a little noticeable and disconcerting at first.

Juvéderm is not water based and so one can inject just the right amount of volume that is needed for an immediately acceptable lift.

How old do you have to be for this treatment?

To have this treatment, you have to be at least 18 years old.
